Brian Small, JD Sports chief financial officer is set to retire from his role.

He will be leaving the business on October 31st after discussing his plans with the company’s board over the last few months.

JD’s current group finance director, Neil Greenhalgh will take over the role.  He has been in the business for 14 years.

According to a stamen released by JD, Greenhalgh has been involved in all aspects of their overall growth and international expansion during his time with the business.

Peter Cowgill, executive chairman of JD, said: "I would like to thank Brian for his valuable contribution and support over the last 15 years at JD and we wish him well in his retirement. I would also like to welcome Neil to the board of JD. The board is delighted that a planned succession has been achieved. Neil has already made a substantial contribution to JD and his promotion to the board will enable him to contribute still further.''
