The average UK household has seen a rise of £21.31 to their shopping bill, due to the price of everyday goods increasing by 2.3% on the last year. Items such as butter, tea and fish continued to rise, according to new grocery market data from Kantar Worldpanel. Some of this was attributed to a significant reduction in the number of promotional offers such as multi-buy deals, leading to a proportion of spending on promotions now being at 32.9%, down by 5.5% on the previous year.
