House of Fraser's flagship store situated on London's Oxford Street will continue to be open.

It was originally going to be closed under a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) that was announced in June, however James Keany of CBRE, the real estate firm advising HoF, said: "This deal only happened because all parties realised it was better to keep the store open and fully operational.

"It was a real case of landlord and tenant genuinely working together and at great speed."

Mike Ashley, Sport Direct's owner, has vowed to keep all 59 of the department stores he acquired open.
