British department store House of Fraser has just announced the appointment of Julian Burnett who will take on the role of chief information officer, with effect from 5th October.

Formally CIO for John Lewis, Julian Burnett has over 25 years’ experience working for consumer facing businesses. “He has a successful track record of shaping, architecting and delivering high impact technology enabled business transformation; and re-energising, developing and leading high performing IT functions and consulting practices,” House of Fraser said in a statement.

His appointment comes as House of Fraser continues to develop their multichannel offer, with shares of retail purchases being made online and via mobile devices increasing at a fast pace and like all major retailers, House of Fraser must keep up with changing consumer trends.
