H&M has partnered with Swedish company Re:newcell to use its technology to recycle used cotton, viscose and other fibres into a new, more sustainable dissolving pulp. The pulp can then be turned into new textile fibres and fed into the textile production cycle.

H&M said this partnership will help it take another step towards the goal of using 100% recycled sourced material by 2030.

Acting environmental sustainability manager and circular economy lead at H&M group, Cecilia Brännsten said: "Re:newcell´s technology has the potential to become a commercial and scalable solution for the industry and accelerate the journey from a linear fashion industry towards a circular one.”
