It has been announced that Google will go head-to-head with Amazon as it plans to offer a fresh food delivery service, which will be initially be tested across Los Angeles and San Francisco. The service will allow customers to shop from stores such as Costco, Whole Foods and Target all in one place and arrange a deliveries from each store.

Prabhu Balasubramanian, product manager, said: “Everyone wants milk delivered with their cookies, that's why we're excited to start adding fresh groceries to Google Express.” He also commented in a blog post: “Whether you need to restock your pantry, get some ingredients for tonight's dinner, or just need some help carrying the heavier stuff - all you have to do is place your order, and we'll take care of the rest.”

Google and Amazon continue to compete against each other as Amazon expands its empire and already offer its Pantry delivery service to Prime users and Google customers can pay via an Android, iOS app or Google Payments online, however it is unclear when Google Express will bring this service overseas.
