Online musical retailer, Gear 4 Music, has reported a substantial increase in sales during the 4 months up to the 31st December. The company posted total sales figures of £24.4m, up 55% when compared to the previous year. Sales in the UK were up by 29% to £15.02m and their European and Rest of World sales rose by a staggering 129% to £9.4m. The own brand sales of the business also increased by 63%, with chief executive Andrew Wass commenting that he was “particularly pleased with our own-brand sales performance during the period, which was driven by improving conversion rates and investment in additional stock”. In light of these figures, it is highly likely that the company will record full year profits that will exceed their own forecasted profit margins from the half year stage.
