Game Digital has announced John Jackson, formerly head of Jamie Oliver Holdings, as its new non-executive chairman, following the announcement that David Hamid is to step down.

Mr Hamid, who has been chairman of the group since its IPO in 2014, will stand down at the AGM in January. Martyn Gibbs, GAME digital chief executive, said: "David has been an instrumental part of the team for almost five years I would like to thank him personally for his significant contribution to the group over that time. I am really pleased that John, with his huge wealth of experience in building brands and companies, will be taking up the role of chairman as we focus on executing our strategy and transforming our business."

The announcement follows the appointment of former Office Shoes chief customer and marketing officer Guy Lister as Chief Operating Officer in August.
