Flannels has been granted £125,000 in business rates relief by a local council to prevent the site remaining derelict.

The company purchased the site in Doncaster, which used to be a nightclub, back in 2016.

Flannels’ head of property paused development of the site, meaning it was unusable.

The council offered the business support by offering them a business rates lump sum, in a bid to restart development of the site.

In 2011 the Local Government Finance Act 1988 was amended to allow local councils to grant discretionary discounts on business rates.
