Clothing brand Fat Face is negotiating with Portsmouth City Council to acquire a new distribution centre at Dunsbury Hill Farm in Havant.

The new distribution centre will provide up to 120,000sq ft of working space to support the business’s plans to grow, whilst ensuring continued employment of distribution staff who play a role in Fat Face’s logistics operations. The distribution centre also means Fat Face can ramp up their recruitment.

The new facility will support ongoing expansion in the UK and overseas, as the business looks to increase both their retail footprint and e-commerce sales through the Fat Face website. The retailer hopes that the new distribution centre will allow them to continue delivering their high levels of customer service through “enhanced fulfilment and an increase in the speed at which products can be distributed to both stores and directly to customers”.

Fat Face will retain their existing head office site at Ridgway in Havant.

Simon Ratcliffe, infrastructure director at Fat Face said, “For some time we have been exploring options to expand our distribution facilities in order to support the company’s ambitious growth plans.

"Having considered a number of locations across the UK, we have decided to maintain our commitment to the Havant region. The new site will support our expansion plans whilst allowing us to better serve our customer base. We also look forward to continuing our support for local employment in the Havant area where our excellent staff, which now total 300 people in both head office and our existing distribution facilities, continue to drive this business forward.”
