It has been revealed that Dragon’s Den star and entrepreneur, Touker Suleyman, who already owns menswear brand Hawes & Curtis as well as womenswear label Ghost, has voiced his interest in Austin Reed, which is currently in administration, confirming “parts of the business are on my radar”.

Austin Reed fell into administration at the end of April this year, with 31 stores remaining closed.

Peter Saville, a joint administrator at the time of the collapse, said: “Austin Reed is a well-regarded and iconic brand and therefore we are confident that it is an attractive proposition for a range of potential buyers.”

So far, 50 buyers have expressed an interest according to a spokeswoman for the 116 retailer and will most likely be sold in separate parts, dividing its womenswear and menswear brands.

Other parties interested in the retailer are Joules, Moss Bros and White Stuff.
