It has been reported today that shoe retailer Deichmann is moving its head office in Market Harborough to a new building in Compass Point in April 2016 as the company continues its UK expansion plans.

Launching 15 years ago, the shoe company has opened 50% of its 96 stores in the last five years and plans to open its 100th UK store when it completes the move next year.

The Compass Point building will offer its staff more room and will be able to house thousands of sample shoes that the buyer’s deal with each season.

Deichmann also launched its online range in 2011 creating a new social media team and this has led to the company expanding its e-commerce and digital department.

Deichmann finance director, Chris Holden, said: “Following 15 years of ‘bedding down’ in the UK we now feel we are at a pivotal point with our brand. By Christmas this year we will have opened eight new stores and we plan to continue to expand at the same rate next year. Added to this, our online offering continues to grow in strength.

“Our relocation not only offers practical benefits, but also befits the size and ambition of our brand in the UK as we look to the future with great confidence.”
