Debenhams has launched plans for its CVA. It has effectively launched two CVA’s, one for the company’s main trading entity Debenhams Retail Limited, and another for Debenhams Property Limited.
All of the retailer’s stores are proposed to stay open for all of 2019. The stores have not been given a specific closing date, although many reports suggest that it will be just after the Christmas period.
The stores affected include Altrincham, Ashford, Birmingham Fort, Canterbury, Chatham, Eastbourne, Folkestone, Great Yarmouth, Guildford, Kirkcaldy, Orpington, Slough, Southport, Southsea, Staines, Stockton, Walton, Wandsworth, Welwyn Garden City, Wimbledon, Witney, and Wolverhampton. The 11 Republic of Ireland stores won’t be affected.
Debenhams have spoken to around 1,200 people that work in these stores and have said that they will try to redeploy as many as possible.
