The Co-op is set to open a new store in Salford’s Clippers Quay that runs 100% on renewable energy.
The store is set to open on August 2nd, and will located in a 2,500 square foot unit situated close to the waterfront.
It will feature a range of food-to-go and also a Costa coffee dispenser. There will also be a range of grocery items, hot food, sandwiches and wines.
The store will also offer not for profit compostable bags, costing 5p, which is the same as the single sue plastic bags that they are replacing.
Paul Griffin, Co-op area manager, said the store’s location is benefiting from inward investment and re-development. He added: “The store will have a great look and range, it’s all about getting closer to our members and customers, providing what they want, need and care about, conveniently. Our aim is for the store to operate at the heart of local life.”
