Christopher Baker, chairman at Nisa has decided that he will be resigning at the company’s Annual General Meeting which will be held on the 29th September.

Standing in as interim non-executive chairman designate will be Peter Hartley, who joined the board in 2012 as an independent non-executive director. Mr Hartley, currently chairs Nisa’s audit committee as well as sitting on the remuneration and nominations committees.

Having taken the role in 2013, Mr Baker’s previous roles include senior management at Coopers & Lybrand and Littlewoods and he was instrumental in recruiting a new executive management team last year.

Commenting, Mr Baker said: “Nisa has now been stabilised after a challenging few years, and I am confident that the foundations are in place for it to capitalise on its potential. I have greatly enjoyed my time at Nisa, but believe the company and its members now need a new chairman with a fresh mandate from the shareholders to take the business forward, alongside the new executive management team. I would like to thank my colleagues for their support over my tenure and wish the company every success in the future."
