British luxury fashion brand Burberry, has recreated the opening scene of Billy Elliot for its Christmas advertisement, with a cast of celebrities including Romeo Beckham and Naomi Campbell featuring in the advert.
Romeo Beckham takes centre stage in the star-studded ad, while James Corden, George Ezra and Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery, among others leap around in Burberry’s distinctive tartan pattern scarfs.
The festive campaign celebrates the 15th anniversary of Billy Elliot and kicks off with original footage from the 2000 film about a coal miner’s son taking up ballet, including the song featured on the soundtrack, Cosmic Dancer by T Rex.
Julie Walters who played the role of Mrs Wilkinson, Billy Elliot’s ballet teacher in the original film also appears in the advert along with Sir Elton John, who penned the music for the musical.
The advert will premiere on Tuesday evening at their flagship Regent Street London store and will be hosted by Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s chief creative and chief executive officer.
