Bluewater has been chosen to host womenswear brand Mint Velvet’s first UK standalone store in a non-high street location.
The store, designed by Kinnersley Kent will be located on the lower Guildhall, covering 2,200 sq ft and will be opposite Reiss, selling its latest accessories, footwear and collections. The store’s design features the company’s signature grey, however there are also new elements including architectural features and filtering, a shoe and accessory area and a separate bag display.
Co-founder and chief executive, Liz Houghton, said: “This new Bluewater store is key to and reflective of our expansion strategy in the UK. The high quality location is fantastic, with significant appeal to our affluent customer base, whilst benefiting from a much wider catchment area.”
The shopping centre has had a sturdy year with around 20 fashion and premium brands opening in the last year, such as Nespresso, Anthropologie, Hackett, Breitling, Tesla and Next.
Portfolio director at Land Securities, Russell Loveland, commented: “The opening of Mint Velvet, which will be followed by Michael Kors, LK Bennett and Jigsaw later this summer, is a very strong addition to Bluewater’s premium line-up and reaffirms our position as the first choice location in the South East for leading brands.”
