It has been revealed that Amazon.co.uk will be running its Black Friday Sale for 12 days starting on Monday 14th November until Friday 25th November.

Deals will be available from the first day, with new offers launching as often as every five minutes. The shopping event will extend to Amazon Marketplace sellers who will offer double the number of deals compared to last year.

Thousands of ‘Lightning Deals’ will also take place, where products will be offered at a discount in limited amounts for a short period of time. Amazon Prime members will be able to purchase Lightning Deals 30 minutes before anyone else.

UK country manager at Amazon, Doug Gurr, commented: “In response to positive customer feedback for Black Friday deals, we are introducing The Black Friday Sale – 12 days of fantastic deals on must-have gifts and products, saving our customers millions of pounds.”
“We’re also thrilled to have over a thousand small businesses featuring in our Black Friday Sale, broadening the selection for our customers and enabling those businesses to boost their sales in the run up to Christmas.”
Meanwhile, there have been complaints regarding Amazon delivery drivers often working ‘illegal’ hours and receiving less than the minimum wage.

Some drivers have told an undercover reporter from the BBC that they are expected to deliver up to 200 parcels a day and even break the speed limit to keep on time, whilst other drivers complained there was no time for basic things like toilet breaks.

The company commented saying it was committed to ensuring drivers drive safely and legally, and are "fairly compensated".
