Asos has reported a 145% increase in full year pre-tax profit to £80 million as it increased its sales forecast for the year ahead.
In the year to August 31st, retail sales climbed by 34% to £1.9 billion as the company achieved UK growth of 16%. International growth was even sturdier at 47%, or 36% at constant currency, as overseas sales accounted for 63% of total retail sales compared to 57% in the previous year.
Asos chief executive, Nick Beighton said: "It's been a great year for Asos, with continued growth in sales and profits. Our international performance was excellent, as we reinvested FX tailwinds and benefitted from our continually improving customer proposition. In a competitive UK market, we achieved strong full price performance whilst further increasing market share.”
