It has been reported that Walmart-owned Asda is to cut 750 jobs across stores and head office as part of its ongoing cost-saving initiative.

According to reports in the Guardian, the Project Renewal plan will see the closure of staff canteens in stores as well as additional services such as photo processing and pizza-making being cut.

The supermarket began consultation with approximately 6,000 staff across the business in January, with 200 store staff having already opted for redundancy and a further 300 likely to leave, with a further 250 to go at the company’s head office.
