Marks & Spencer has launched dedicated websites in Australia and New Zealand in order to crack the international market outside of Europe.
At present, shoppers in Australia purchase via the UK website which delivers to over 30 countries worldwide. The new websites will feature tailored editorial content marking appropriate items for the seasons, sizing and local currency.
David Walmsley, director of M&S.com, said: “Australia is firmly established as one of our top performing international delivery markets and our new localised website presents a key growth opportunity for our international online business.”
As well as launching new websites, the retail giant is looking into opening a high street store in Australia and a spokesperson for M&S said: “While we always look at new opportunities, we have no current plans to open stores in Australia.”
