According to press reports, clothing retailer American Apparel is preparing to file for bankruptcy “as soon as the next few weeks”, having only just come out of bankruptcy earlier this year.

According to anonymous sources quoted by Bloomberg, the filing is imminent following a tumultuous period for the group, including falling sales and acrimonious split with founder Dov Charney.

Meanwhile, the CEO who took the reigns following Mr Charney’s departure, Paula Schneider, resigned in September.
