In a survey taken by the UK Customer Service Index (UKCSI), digital retailer Amazon ranked number one with regards to customer satisfaction. The survey filled in by 10,000 consumers, ranks the companies on factors such as staff professionalism, quality, efficiency and complaint handling. Non-food retailers such as Amazon, ASOS and John Lewis ranked very highly, with the industry receiving an average score of 82.5; The food retailers received an average score 81.3 with M&S and Waitrose amongst the highest ranked companies. The UKCSI also noted that the gap between the highest and lowest ranked companies is closing as overall service continues on an onward trend in the industry.
