Chris North, the head of Amazon UK, has announced that he is to leave the company after 10 years of service, five of which he has spent in his current role.

Mr. North is to become president and chief executive of image publishing site Shutterfly, where he is expected to earn $700,000 (£480,000) for the first two years in addition to a “transition bonus” of $1.5 million (£1 million) and shares in the company. “We’d like to thank Christopher for his many contributions and wish him the best with his new venture” Amazon said.
