Amazon has announced plans for its third annual Prime Day, which include raising the offer time to 30 hours and welcoming small businesses and entrepreneurs.

The date has been announced as July 11th and the offers will begin from 6pm the evening before.

Last year Prime Day saw a 60% rise in sales hitting around £300 million and this year is set to be even bigger.

China, India and Mexico will now be included in the event, taking the number of participating countries to 13.

Greg Greeley, Amazon Prime vice president said: “Our members love Prime Day and we were thrilled by the response over the last two years. It is inspiring us to make it even better this year for Prime members.

“Every side of our business is working to deliver more deals for a record number of shoppers. We even decided that 24 hours in a day just isn’t enough time to shop all of the great deals – so we’re giving Prime members 30 hours to shop on Prime Day.”
