Online giant Amazon has announced that it plans to open a third fulfilment centre next year in Daventry, which will create over 300 permanent jobs, including roles such as IT and HR, engineers and operations managers.
Amazon stated that the new centre will help it grow its own product range of over 150 million items, as well as supporting the 40% increase seen last year in the number of independent small businesses that sell on Amazon Marketplace.

Amazon’s vice president of UK operations, John Tagawa, commented: "We look forward to welcoming 300 new recruits to the Amazon team with competitive wages and comprehensive benefits starting on day one. The new site in Daventry will enable us to continue to expand our product selection, support more third party sellers including small businesses with our fulfilment expertise and meet growing customer demand in the UK."

The new warehouse will be the company’s 12th UK centre, as it prepares to open in two more new locations next year in Doncaster and Tillsbury, which will see over 1500 jobs being created between them.
