Online retailer Amazon has revealed it has launched Amazon Pantry to rival supermarkets in the run up to Christmas.
The new service which is available to its Prime customers is a UK service which will deliver household goods and groceries, covering over 4,000 brands of food and drink, health and beauty products, pet and baby items.
Items will cost £2.99 for next day delivery for the first 20kg order and 99p thereafter. The new service will be a possible threat to the four big supermarkets due to Amazon’s low prices even though they will not be offering fresh fruit or vegetables.
For customers that would like to obtain the Prime membership, it will now cost £59 a year which will allow them access to early Black Friday Amazon deals.
