Amazon has reported a leap in sales of 28% for the first quarter, leading to a profit of $513 million (£351 million). The results were better than many analysts had predicted.
The rise was helped by better sales of the Kindle e-reader, Fire tablets and its Prime delivery and TV service.
However, the biggest source of growth was the company’s cloud services unit, which rents data storage to businesses and is the company’s fastest-growing division.
