Online retailer Amazon has announced that it is to open its third warehouse in Doncaster next year, which will create 500 new jobs in addition to the 3,500 employees that it plans to recruit by then end of this year, bringing the total amount of Amazon employees to 15,500.
The new warehouse is to strengthen Amazon’s fulfilment offer and will be recruiting staff for various jobs including engineers and operation managers.
John Tagawa, UK operations vice-president, said: “We already have two fulfilment centres in Doncaster so know from experience that there is strong talent in the region who would be well suited to working for Amazon. We look forward to hearing from people to fill a range of roles you would expect of a business like Amazon, from specialist professions such as engineering, HR or IT, through to large strategic leadership roles and people to fulfil customer orders maintaining our customer promise.”
