Online retailer Amazon has announced that it is bringing its revolutionary Dash button to the UK for Prime users.
The device automatically orders a household item that you have run out of when pressed. Currently, you can order about 40 common products including toilet roll, dishwasher tablets, nappies and condoms which will all be delivered the following day.
The buttons, which are branded, wireless and for Prime customers, can be bought for £4.99, however that amount will be removed from the first order of the product purchased rendering it essentially free and if you accidentally tap it a second time it will be disregarded to avoid accidental ordering.
Daniel Rausch, director of Amazon Dash, said: “There is no retail therapy in buying toilet roll or bin bags. It’s just work. We wanted to take the one-click experience from our website and put it right where people need it most, in the home, near the products that run out. So that buying them is no longer work.”
Having already experienced the Amazon Dash in the US, orders of offered products has risen three fold, although Amazon have not yet released any figures.
