About the opportunity:

The Quality and Food Safety Manager at Burger King is responsible for overseeing and implementing comprehensive food safety and health protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and protect the well-being of our guests and team members. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety regulations, risk management, and operational best practices within the fast-food industry.

What you'll do:

Develop and Implement Food Safety Policies in line with RBI and BKUK Group guidance: Create and enforce food safety policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with local and government regulations, as well as RBI and Burger King standards.
Training and Education: Conduct training sessions for staff members on proper food handling, storage, preparation, and hygiene practices. Ensure that all employees are certified in food safety and maintain up-to-date certifications.
Inspection and Audit Compliance: Conduct regular inspections and audits of kitchen facilities, equipment, procedures, suppliers to identify potential hazards, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and address any deficiencies promptly.
HACCP Implementation: Develop and maintain Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans to identify and mitigate food safety risks throughout the food production process.
Supplier and Vendor Management: Collaborate with suppliers and purchasing to ensure the quality and safety of ingredients, packaging, and food products. Establish and maintain partnerships with reputable suppliers that adhere to food safety standards.
Crisis Management: Develop contingency plans and protocols for responding to food safety incidents, outbreaks, or emergencies. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, to manage and resolve food safety issues effectively.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of food safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and compliance documentation. Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory authorities as required.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in food safety and health management. Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation to enhance food safety standards and operational efficiency.

You will have:

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Public Health, Environmental Health, or related field. Advanced degree or certification in food safety (e.g. Certified Food Safety Manager) is preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food safety management, preferably in the fast-food or restaurant industry.
Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA Food Code, HACCP principles, allergen management) and industry standards.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to train and motivate teams to maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential food safety risks.
Proficiency in MS Office applications and food safety management software systems.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
