Marketplace is a brand-new online venture for Tesco, designed to give our customers the opportunity to use our website to shop for a wide range of third-party products in addition to the groceries they already know and love. Our initial focus will be on pet food, health and beauty products and alcohol, and as with other online marketplaces, sellers will fulfil orders directly. Job Summary: Own and shape workstreams within Marketplace across business planning, programme management, strategy, and proposition development. Support the long-term business plan by identifying opportunities to grow the business profitably, and report on delivery against OKRs. Work collaboratively with your squad members on new projects and work streams to improve the customer offer.

In this job, I am accountable for:

Proposition Development

Using data and market research to find opportunities to grow sales and profit
crafting business cases, running tests and implementing takeaways
Working with various business teams to ensure knowledge is shared across business for collaborative and efficient proposition development and testing

Business Strategy & Performance:

Owning the business planning for Marketplace, working alongside other business teams, technology and finance partners.
Translating the long-term plan into yearly budget, business objectives and key results areas

Programme Management

Working cross-functionally to build a comprehensive programme plan, supervising delivery of key initiatives against the timelines and highlighting any potential delays
Shaping and crafting insightful reporting and tracking to help us spot opportunities for growth and improved efficiency, and manage ongoing work
Project management skills liaising across legal & compliance teams, co-ordinating information to be shared across multiple business functions

Working collaboratively with Centre of Excellence colleagues to feed into wider business planning
Managing the Marketplace business governance and programme communication with Online Leadership Team Work as a business partner to Technology teams, create business cases to inform technology backlog prioritisation

You will need:

Understanding of Online business model and economics
Working collaboratively
Experience building or scoping new business propositions
Reporting and/or analytics
Pragmatic and strategic thinking
Agile and creative problem solving
Strong project management
Stakeholder management
