Our Head Office Store Construction Department is strengthening their Commercial Team to meet our ambitious plans. They are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Associate Consultant to work within the Store Construction team, contributing to Lidl GB’s property expansion and portfolio improvement projects throughout the store development life cycle.
You’ll be an ambitious, organised and dedicated Associate Consultant, you’ll take pride in ensuring the department runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Based at our Head Office in Tolworth, you’ll be responsible for your own core tasks and projects, support the daily operations of the Commercial Store Construction department as well as supporting the Senior Management team and our seventeen regional Property Offices nationwide. What you'll do

  • Lead continued development and upkeep of key construction cost data, KPI creation, and reporting used to track regional and national performance.
  • Analyse data to identify where improvements can be made within our construction specification, processes or procurement.
  • Contribute to national benchmarking and participate in strategic reporting and supporting construction projects cost management.
  • Drive, manage and document tasks, processes and construction contract delivery to ensure all of our new store expansion happens efficiently and on time.
  • Lead the month‐to‐month contract administration process with our external solicitors, working independently with them to ensure the smoothest contract operations.
  • Be the subject expert for internal colleagues on the Commercial Construction Teams Processes for constructing new stores.
  • Create and own internal document management procedures for regional construction colleagues to be able to effectively adopt and deliver on.
  • Deliver presentations and training to internal teams and senior management on the above areas.
  • Participate in and lead commercial negotiations, supplier onboarding, and contract preparation, in collaboration with the senior commercial team and external legal services providers.
  • Support and lead aspects of framework agreements and supplier negotiations to achieve cost and delivery efficiencies.
  • Manage the departments corporate compliance procedures, ensuring they are as efficient and clear for all who operate with them whilst protecting the brand.
  • Key point of contact to for escalation and management of performance, of partnering legal services providers.

What you'll need

  • A genuine passion for performing your tasks effectively, efficiently and to a high standard
  • Commercial acumen with desire to grow it and develop further
  • Very strong organisational skills
  • A strong multitasker who can prioritise conflicting deadlines & varied workload
  • Highly focused and accurate with an uncompromising eye for detail
  • A motivated and proactive team player, with a can‐do attitude, who is also capable of working independently
  • Experience within SAP systems would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication, literacy and numerical skills
  • Advanced Google Sheets skills and experience of working with other Google Workspace programmes (e.g. Google Slides).
  • Background in construction or property is desirable but not essential
