Everyone who works at Lidl brings something unique to the table, but we also have a whole lot in common. We’re motivated, commercially aware, and ready to take on any challenge.

Our HR Team is looking for a passionate, people-centric intern to join us for their Industrial Placement year. This isn't just about sitting behind a desk; you’ll be at the heart of the employee lifecycle, gaining hands-on experience in how we attract, develop, and engage our most valuable asset: our people. If you’re fascinated by human behavior, talent development, and building a high-performance culture, this is your place.

At Lidl, we offer a hybrid working model to give you the best of both worlds. Spend three days or more in our state-of-the-art office, where you can enjoy an on-site gym, restaurant, and more of the perks you deserve. And with up to two days at home, you’ll find the work/life balance you need to thrive.

What you'll do

During this 11-month placement, you will follow a rotational scheme designed to give you immersive exposure across the core areas of HR. You will move between our People departments, gaining experience in both the strategic Employee Lifecycle and the operational excellence of our HR Services team.

  • Supporting the end-to-end recruitment process, from refreshing job adverts to coordinating assessment centers and ensuring a world-class candidate experience.

  • Assisting in the delivery of training initiatives across our regional network and supporting our Emerging Talent programmes, including the coordination of development sessions for our graduates and apprentices.

  • Driving internal culture by supporting national engagement events and regional initiatives that make Lidl a great place to work.

  • Gaining hands-on experience in the essential 'engine room' of HR, including HR systems, policy guidance, and supporting the administrative milestones that keep our colleagues' careers moving.

  • Helping welcome new starters into the business, ensuring they have the tools and 'Lidl knowledge' to succeed from day one.

What you'll need

  • You are currently in your second year of study and looking to complete an industrial placement before heading into your final year in Autumn 2027.
  • Able to commit to working for 11 months, starting from the 1st September
  • A passion for people and organisational culture.
  • Used to managing multiple deadlines
  • A high level of accuracy and a 'proactive' mindset
  • Confident in presenting ideas and building relationships with stakeholders across different departments and seniority levels.
  • You must be legally entitled to work in the UK and happy to travel to our Regional Distribution Centres or stores when required.

What you'll receive

  • Pro-rata holiday allowance

  • Enhanced professional development and mentoring
