Cleaning Manager – Salisbury

Salary: £40,000
We are seeking an experienced and driven Cleaning Manager to lead delivery of high-quality cleaning services within a Defence environment. You will be responsible for managing teams, ensuring compliance, and maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards, while delivering an outstanding customer experience in line with Compass Group standards.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily cleaning operations, ensuring high standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Lead, train, and motivate cleaning teams to consistently deliver excellent service
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, and labour costs effectively within budget
- Monitor cleaning standards through regular audits and inspections, driving continuous improvement
- Maintain stock control of cleaning materials and equipment
- Build strong client relationships, attend review meetings, and contribute to monthly reporting
- Ensure all compliance documentation, COSHH records, and cleaning schedules are up to date
- Support wider soft FM operations and provide cover for supervisors where required
Essential:
- Proven experience managing cleaning operations or soft FM services
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations and cleaning compliance (including COSHH)
- Experience managing budgets, labour, and resources
- IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
- Experience within MOD/Defence or secure environments
- Knowledge of service management or auditing systems
- Relevant cleaning or FM qualifications
