About the role The role is responsible for managing store shrink-related activities, ensuring accurate accounting treatment, resolving operational queries, and maintaining financial integrity through reconciliations and process improvements. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement in inventory and shrink processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Store Shrink & Query Resolution
Resolve store shrink-related queries using Zendesk or other ticketing platforms.Investigate discrepancies in store shrink and provide timely resolutions.Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure closure of issues.
2. Accounting & Financial Processing
Apply basic accounting principles (Debit/Credit, Control Accounts) while recording transactions.Prepare and post shrink-related accounting corrections.Ensure accurate processing of financial transactions in relevant systems.
3. Inventory & Operational Knowledge
Understand inventory movements and their impact on store shrink.Analyze operational data to identify root causes of shrink variances.Collaborate with operations teams to ensure accurate recording of inventory transactions.
4. Reconciliations & Controls
Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations in line with best practices.Identify and highlight accounting issues during reconciliation and propose solutions.Ensure adherence to risk assessment methodologies and internal controls frameworks.Maintain accuracy in financial records to avoid unexpected balance sheet fluctuations.
5. Reporting & Tracker Management
Maintain and update various operational and financial trackers.Ensure completeness and accuracy of data used for reporting.Meet strict timelines for reporting deliverables.
6. Continuous Improvement & Process Excellence
Identify opportunities for operational improvements using Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and techniques.Drive process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
7. Team Collaboration & Culture
Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve team objectives.Support onboarding and act as a buddy for new joiners.Provide training and guidance to team members to improve overall performance.Demonstrate integrity by adhering to the Business Code of Conduct.
