Vision Express is an optical retailer with stores across the UK, Ireland and Jersey. Its Store Support Centre in Ruddington, Nottingham, supports more than 550 stores and 5,550 employees. It is part of EssilorLuxottica, which Vision Express describes as the world's largest eyewear group.

• In store: optical assistants help customers choose eyewear, with frame adjustments, repairs, fittings and pre-screening eye examinations. Optometrists, dispensing opticians and contact lens opticians work alongside them.
• Store management: store managers and assistant store managers who run the day-to-day, with a monthly bonus scheme linked to store targets.
• Joint venture partners: partners invest in and become a shareholder of their own Vision Express store, with a share of the profit and field support from a dedicated Business Operations Manager.
• Store Support Centre and manufacturing: head office teams in Ruddington, and technicians at the Nottingham manufacturing site, which Vision Express says produces over 11,000 pairs of spectacles a day.
