Tapi Carpets & Floors is a flooring retailer founded in 2015 by a team of flooring specialists. It describes itself as Britain's biggest flooring retailer, with over 220 stores, including 19 John Lewis concessions, and more than 230 mobile showrooms that bring samples and advice to customers' homes. In 2024 Tapi added the Carpetright brand and 54 of its stores.

Tapi sells carpet, vinyl, laminate, engineered wood and LVT, and offers design advice, planning and measuring, uplift and removal, and fitting.

Best Big Retailer to Work For 2026. Tapi was named the winner of Best Big Retailer in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026, a list based on independent employee surveys by WorkL. Tapi reports that its colleagues gave an average happiness score of 87%, rating factors such as job satisfaction, information sharing and confidence in management.

Where people work: Tapi has over 1,500 colleagues across its stores, mobile showrooms, central offices, warehouses and call centre. Roles include sales advisors, sales estimators, customer champions and store managers in its stores; home consultants, who take a mobile showroom to customers' homes; customer service; and central roles in areas such as buying, tech, the people team and digital.

Training: new flooring sales advisors join the Tapi Academy, a 12-week training plan, with on-target earnings guaranteed for those 12 weeks.
