Currys is the UK’s best-known retailer of technology. Its teams sell, deliver, install and repair tech for millions of customers, in store, online and in their homes. The original Currys brand dates back to 1884, and in 2021 Dixons Carphone became Currys, bringing Currys PC World, Carphone Warehouse and Team Knowhow together as one business.

In May 2026 Currys was named the UK’s best major retail employer in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work survey, scoring particularly highly on colleague empowerment, job satisfaction and manager effectiveness. Currys also reports that it is the highest-rated major UK retailer on Glassdoor, at 4.0 out of 5. Its values are We Put Our Customers First, We Own It and We Win Together.

Currys has around 300 stores across the UK and Ireland, 19 distribution hubs and five contact centres, with its main base at the Currys London campus in Waterloo. It is also the UK’s biggest recycler and repairer of tech.

In store, Sales Colleagues help customers find the right tech on the shop floor, at Currys’ Technical Bars and through ShopLive, the free 24/7 video shopping service that connects customers with in-store experts. You don’t need in-depth tech knowledge to start: new colleagues attend an induction, either virtually or at Currys’ academy at Fort Dunlop, Birmingham. Currys also recruits for retail management, B2B, delivery drivers, gas engineers, repairs, distribution, contact centres, corporate roles, apprenticeships and graduate schemes.

Christmas 2026: Black Friday, Christmas and New Year are Currys’ busiest time of year, known as Peak. Currys is recruiting around 1,000 seasonal retail colleagues across the UK and Ireland, on contracts running until 2 January 2027. Starting pay is £12.71 an hour, or £13.96 in London stores. Every new starter completes a two-day virtual induction before their first shift, and last year 49% of Currys’ seasonal colleagues were offered a permanent role once Peak ended.
