Superdrug has launched a new online optician service as part of their plan to expand their health and wellbeing services range.

The online optician includes over 900 styles of prescription glasses and sunglasses priced from £9, and works by customers logging on to the website, selecting their frames and lenses, entering their prescription and choosing whether to have their glasses delivered to their home or to one of Superdrug’s 800 high street stores. In-store collection and home delivery is offered free of charge for orders over £25.

Each order comes with single vision thin and light lenses, anti-reflection, UV and scratch resistant lens treatments, a spectacle case and a cleaning cloth, all included in the price.

In addition, a full range of lens upgrades including varifocals, bifocals and tints are offered online along with a range of accessories including cloths, lanyards, cases and cleaning solutions.

Head of healthcare services at Superdrug, Ian Lloyd said, “At Superdrug we are constantly evolving our health and wellbeing offering to ensure we are meeting the needs of our customers. We are delighted to be the first high street pharmacy to offer an online opticians service, providing affordable prescription glasses and sunglasses from a well-known brand customers can trust.”
