Hermes Investment Management, the £30.8 billion manager, and AustralianSuper, joint owners of centre:mk, have announced international fashion retailer, Primark, is to open a 75,000 sq ft sales area at centre:mk, in the heart of Milton Keynes.

The new store is the largest single letting at centre:mk in the last 25 years and will occupy an extension of the former BHS on Silbury Arcade, showcasing the entire Primark range.  It will be handed over to the brand next year for fit-out to commence.

The signing of Primark is a key milestone in the joint owners’ “Re-imagining an icon” strategy, which is investing over £60m in the centre:mk over three years.  Key initiatives of the programme include the recently completed £10m refurbishment of Sunset Walk, the award-winning Deer Walk customer experience services unveiled in June, and a new 1,400-space multi-storey carpark.  All improvements respond to specific consumer needs, with Primark the most requested brand by visitors in exit surveys for the last five years.
