As a System Controller at NEXT, you will play a vital part in keeping our business moving. You will make a real difference by keeping our material flow seamless and our operation running smoothly. You will be an essential link in our team, working daily alongside our engineers and maintenance assistants to spot and solve problems before they impact our customers.
To help you succeed right from the start, NEXT provides full, hands-on system training and ongoing team support, ensuring you have the confidence, tools, and technical knowledge to thrive in our advanced automated environment.
What you'll take on
- Monitor all automated systems in real time to ensure continuous, smooth material flow throughout the warehouse.
- Work collaboratively with Maintenance Assistants and Engineers, using clear radio communication to report and address any material flow issues promptly.
- Liaise directly with third-party technical hotlines, effectively escalating system faults to deliver rapid, successful resolutions.
- Apply your training and system knowledge to troubleshoot issues actively and implement practical, safe solutions on the floor.
- Take full ownership of your daily tasks and situations, maintaining NEXT’s high standards of health and safety at all times.
What you'll bring
- A clear, confident communication style that allows you to work brilliantly with people at all levels across the team.
- An organised, flexible approach to work, with the ability to prioritise tasks and stay calm and focused during busy operational periods.
- A strong problem-solving mindset and a natural willingness to learn how our advanced warehouse systems operate.
- Being computer literate and comfortable adapting to new, technology-driven working environments.
- A highly motivated, proactive attitude with a genuine desire to take initiative and help the wider team deliver great outcomes.
- Previous experience within a similar warehouse or distribution setting—including exposure to SCADA systems—is advantageous, though not essential.
