Corporate Communications Business Partner – Food (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Corporate Communications Business Partner – Food (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

locationUnited Kingdom
PublishedPublished: 16/07/2026
Full Time
At M&S, we're transforming the future of food retail, and we're looking for a talented Corporate Communications Business Partner to help tell that story. This is an exciting opportunity to sit at the heart of our Food business, creating engaging communications that connect colleagues to our strategy, celebrate our successes, and strengthen our reputation with customers, media and business partners.

Working closely with senior leaders across Food, Corporate Affairs and PR, you'll bring strategic stories to life through compelling content, events, campaigns and colleague communications. If you're a creative storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves turning complex business priorities into engaging narratives, we'd love to hear from you.

Please note this role is a 12-month fixed term contract.

Due to high interest, this role may close earlier than advertised. We recommend applying as soon as possible.

What you’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Support the Corporate Communications Manager to deliver colleague communications across the Food business, delivering engaging content through newsletters, intranet channels, town halls and weekly huddles attended by 400+ colleagues.
  • Develop proactive corporate stories and campaigns that enhance the reputation of M&S Food, activating them through media, owned channels, events and leadership opportunities.
  • Organise and manage major colleague engagement events, including weekly and monthly huddles and large-scale business kick-off events.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders, PR teams, content specialists and external partners to produce compelling communications, maintain comms plans and support key moments in the corporate calendar.

Who you are

Your skills will include:

  • Significant experience in communications, including internal communications experience within a large, complex organisation.
  • Outstanding writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate business strategy into clear, engaging and inspiring messages.
  • Proven experience supporting transformation, culture change or strategic business programmes through effective communications.
  • Strong content creation and campaign planning expertise across multiple formats, including video, digital content, events, presentations and colleague communications.
  • Resilient and highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work at pace and build strong relationships with senior business partners and external partners.

What’s in it for you?

Working at M&S means being part of something bigger - helping to deliver quality, value and service to millions of customers every day. We’re inclusive, fast-moving and always evolving, with a strong sense of purpose and a focus on doing the right thing.

Here are just a few of the benefits that make working here even more rewarding:

  • 20% colleague discount on all M&S products and many third-party brands for you and someone in your household, available once you’ve completed your probation
  • Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more
  • Discretionary bonus schemes linked to your performance and ours
  • Strong pension and life assurance to help plan for the future
  • Tailored induction and training to support your development from day one
  • Exclusive perks and savings through our M&S Choices portal
  • Market-leading family policies, including parental, adoption and neonatal leave
  • 24/7 wellbeing support, including virtual GP access and mental health services
  • One paid volunteer day a year to support a cause that matters to you
