Senior Licensed Accessory Designer

Location: Buckinghamshire
Working Pattern: Full-time, 5 days per week (3 days office-based)
Salary: Approximately £50,000–£70,000

Purpose of the Role:
-An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Accessory Designer to lead the design and development of commercially successful collections. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying emerging trends and managing the end-to-end design process, from initial concept through to customer approval.

Key Responsibilities:
-Design seasonal slipper collections for a range of UK high street retailers and supermarket customers.
-Research and interpret market trends, consumer behaviour and competitor activity to create commercially relevant collections.
-Develop and present trend mood boards, colour palettes and fabric direction for each season.
-Produce high-quality CAD renderings alongside hand sketches to communicate design concepts effectively.
-Create accurate technical drawings and detailed product specifications for development and production.
-Work collaboratively with the Design Manager, Product Development, Sourcing, Account Management and the wider Design team to deliver customer requirements.
-Attend and contribute to customer meetings, presenting design concepts and collections while incorporating feedback into product development.
-Manage multiple customer accounts and design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, target costings and commercial objectives are achieved.
-Communicate effectively with UK-based colleagues and overseas sourcing and development teams.
-Travel within the UK and internationally to visit customers and suppliers, source materials, conduct market research, and attend trade fairs and industry exhibitions.

Skills and Experience:
-Proven experience in commercial accessory design, with a strong commercial portfolio.
-Ideally experience working closely with licenses.
-Excellent trend forecasting and market research skills.
-Strong CAD rendering abilities, supported by confident hand sketching skills.
-Experience producing technical drawings and detailed product specifications.
-Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
-Strong presentation and communication skills, with experience presenting to customers.
-Commercially minded with an understanding of target costings and customer requirements.
-Willingness to travel both within the UK and internationally as required.
