We are looking for an organised, proactive and people-focused Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the delivery of first-class housekeeping services across our prestigious campus.
Working alongside the Housekeeping Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the School's boarding houses, teaching spaces, offices and communal areas are maintained to the highest standards, creating a safe, clean and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
What You'll Be DoingAs Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will support the day-to-day management of the housekeeping operation by:
- Assisting the Housekeeping Manager in leading, motivating and developing the housekeeping team.
- Coordinating daily cleaning schedules, staff rotas and workloads to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Carrying out regular quality inspections and housekeeping audits to maintain exceptional standards.
- Supporting stock management, ordering and inventory control to ensure supplies are always available.
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation, COSHH regulations and the School's cleaning standards.
- Delivering training, coaching and day-to-day support to housekeeping colleagues.
- Assisting with recruitment, inductions and performance management.
- Responding promptly to housekeeping requests and resolving operational issues professionally.
- Building positive working relationships with boarding staff, teaching departments and the wider facilities team.
- Identifying opportunities to improve service delivery, efficiency and sustainability.
We're seeking an enthusiastic and organised individual who enjoys leading by example and takes pride in delivering outstanding standards.
You'll have:
- Previous supervisory experience within housekeeping, hospitality, hotels, education or facilities management.
- Experience supporting the management of a housekeeping or cleaning team.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining exceptional cleaning standards.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and digital systems for reporting and scheduling.
- A flexible, hands-on approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service and creating welcoming environments.
