Systems Engineer III

We are looking for a senior systems engineer to help shape and deliver Tesco's collaboration, productivity and AI-enabled workplace platforms.

As a senior individual contributor, you will design, implement and improve Microsoft 365 services, lead complex technical initiatives, solve challenging engineering problems and provide technical leadership across the team. Working closely with Architecture, Security, Product and Operations teams, you will help deliver secure, resilient and scalable services that support colleagues across Tesco.

• Own the technical roadmap and architectural direction for collaboration, productivity and AI-enabled workplace platforms, ensuring alignment with security, governance, cost, service quality and colleague experience.
• Design and deliver new technologies, platform capabilities and service enhancements from concept through implementation and operational readiness.
• Engineer and improve Microsoft 365 services, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Exchange Online, Power Platform and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
• Design, deploy and support Microsoft 365 Copilot capabilities, including agents, connectors and approved extensibility solutions.
• Design and implement security, identity, governance and compliance controls.
• Assess and reduce data exposure, oversharing and permissions-related risks across Microsoft 365 services.
• Manage platform lifecycle activities, service changes and feature rollouts.
• Automate administration and operational processes using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph APIs and other engineering tools.
• Produce high-quality technical designs, implementation plans and operational documentation.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and peer review across the engineering team.

• Strong hands-on experience engineering Microsoft 365 services in a large enterprise environment.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot engineering, governance, security or platform readiness initiatives.
• Good understanding of Microsoft 365 Copilot architecture, Microsoft Graph grounding, permissions and enterprise data access.
• Practical experience with information protection, sensitivity labels, DLP, retention or auditing.
• Deep technical expertise in SharePoint Online and experience across at least two of:

o Microsoft Teams o OneDrive for Business o Exchange Online o Power Platform

• Understanding of Copilot Studio, agents, connectors or extensibility and their security and governance implications.
• Strong PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API experience.
• Experience designing, implementing and troubleshooting enterprise-scale services.
• Strong communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

• Experience with Azure services supporting Microsoft 365 integration, automation or monitoring.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications in Microsoft 365, Power Platform or Copilot.
