Sous Chef
Location: London
Salary: £38,000–£42,000 per annum
We’re looking for a talented, enthusiastic and hands-on Sous Chef to join a high-quality corporate hospitality operation in London.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you’ll help lead food production across the whole operation, including the restaurant, pantry service, hospitality and events. You’ll support the kitchen team during service, ensuring that every dish is prepared and presented to an excellent standard.
This is a varied role offering the opportunity to contribute to menu development, develop your leadership skills and help deliver a consistently outstanding food experience.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef with the daily management of the kitchen
- Lead and motivate the team in the Head Chef’s absence
- Oversee food preparation and service across the whole operation
- Help develop fresh, seasonal and engaging menus
- Maintain excellent standards of food quality, consistency and presentation
- Support stock control, ordering, food-cost management and waste reduction
- Ensure the kitchen is organised and fully prepared for every service
- Train and develop junior members of the kitchen team
- Maintain full compliance with food safety, allergen, hygiene and health and safety procedures
- Respond confidently to special dietary requests and changing requirements
- Work collaboratively with the front-of-house and wider site teams
About you
You’ll be an experienced Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef with a background in high-quality hospitality, restaurants or contract catering.
You’ll be organised, reliable and calm under pressure, with excellent attention to detail and a genuine passion for fresh food. A supportive team player, you’ll enjoy leading from the front and helping others deliver their best.
