About us

Halfords is on a journey - building the future of motoring and cycling and looking for people who want to help shape what comes next. We’re a place for co‑creators: people who want to make a real impact, take ownership and be part of something that’s still evolving.

As the UK’s leading retailer of motoring and cycling products, we’re supported by one of the country’s largest independent vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair networks through Halfords Autocentres. This breadth gives us a strong, stable foundation - and the freedom to keep innovating and growing.

That means real variety for our colleagues, along with the opportunity to learn, stretch and develop as the business moves forward. Whatever your role, you’ll be part of a team focused on delivering exceptional service - using your expertise to solve problems, guide customers and help keep the nation moving with confidence.

About the role

Halfords is entering an exciting period of brand transformation and we’re expanding our social media team to match that ambition. We’re looking for a highly creative, hands‑on Social Content Creator who excels in shooting social-first content (iPhone and DSLR).

You’ll play a key role in bringing Halfords’ brand personality to life across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook, capturing authentic, real‑world content that showcases our people, products, services and expertise across our retail stores, garages and on‑the‑road operations

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in planning social media content by aligning with the priorities of key internal stakeholders across the wider marketing mix and category trading teams

  • Research trends, audience interests, and platform best practices to inform content direction

  • Work with the wider social team to identify, capture and publish reactive/viral content that showcases Halfords’ brand personality

  • Produce paid social cutdowns of top performing organic formats where necessary to support performance goals

  • Maintain a consistent tone, style, and visual identity across all social channels ensuring all content produced aligns with brand direction

  • Ensure content produced adheres to copyright, privacy, and accessibility standards

  • Adjust content strategies based on data-led insights shared by the wider social team

About you

  • Competent in the use of editing tools such as Capcut, Premiere Pro, Canva, Photoshop or similar to produce authentic, engaging content

  • Understanding of storytelling techniques, pacing, hooks and platform-specific creative

  • A people person who thrives on building strong relationships to enable content capture at garages, mobile vans, workshops and other on‑site/off‑site locations

  • Confident both on camera and behind the camera when capturing content on‑site

  • Strong knowledge of platform best practices, algorithms, and emerging features across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook

  • Good understanding of copyright, privacy, and accessibility standards for social content

  • Communicates with confidence when working with external agencies and internal stakeholders at all levels
