A leading charity dedicated to improving the lives of people who are homeless across London are looking for a senior area manager until the end of the year with the view of stepping into a Head of Retail position. Their retail operation plays a vital role in generating income to support our mission, with a growing network of shops, e-commerce channels, and community partnerships.

They are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded individual to lead and develop the retail portfolio, driving sustainable growth while delivering an outstanding customer, donor, and volunteer experience.

The Role:

As Senior Area Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across their retail estate. You will be responsible for maximising income, enhancing profitability, and ensuring the shops reflect the values and mission of the charity.

Leading a team of regional and shop managers, you will develop and implement innovative retail strategies, identify growth opportunities, and create a high-performance culture that engages employees and volunteers alike.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver the charity's retail strategy to achieve income and growth targets.
- Lead and inspire regional managers, shop managers, and support teams.
- Drive sales, profitability, and operational excellence across all retail channels.
- Identify opportunities for shop expansion, relocation, and portfolio optimisation.
- Oversee stock generation, merchandising, pricing, and customer experience initiatives.
- Develop e-commerce and digital retail opportunities.
- Manage budgets, financial performance, and key retail KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, supporters, and local communities.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, engagement, and continuous improvement.

We are looking for an experienced retail leader with:

- Significant senior-level retail management experience, ideally across multi-site operations.
- A proven track record of delivering sales growth and commercial success.
- Strong leadership and people development skills.
- Experience managing budgets and delivering financial targets.
- Excellent strategic planning and operational management capabilities.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A passion for the charity sector and making a positive social impact.

Experience within charity retail is desirable but not essential for candidates with strong commercial retail backgrounds.

The Salary is paying up to £80,000 accompanied by a wide range of benefits such as interest free loans, enhance maternity/paternity & flexible working hours.
