For this interesting and fast-paced role, you'll 'spot check' pallets of our short-life product* to make sure they're in tip-top condition.

It means scrutinising all kinds of things - like the country of origin, dimension and weight. It's about getting things done quickly and efficiently with excellent attention to detail. Essentially, you're a crucial part of keeping our customers happy.

The main function of a QCA is to work as part of a team of 10, checking products on the warehouse floor upon arrival and determining if the product meets the quality expectations. You will be working in both a chill and ambient environment. We would be expected to work unsupervised at times and in different buildings (RDC or TCA). Working hours: 5/7 days working between 30-35 hours per week (30 hour per week contract). Shift patterns: Set shift pattern of 12:00- 18:00/19:00 with every 3rd weekend off. *Working in a temperature of 5 degrees (don't worry - we will provide uniform to keep you warm)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides the Quality Control Leader, Buying Assistants and Suppliers with information regarding Quality Control.
  • Determines when stock should be rejected.
  • Liaises with suppliers, internal and external auditors and external bodies when required.
  • Updates all relevant departments with information regarding product quality in the agreed format.
  • Checks intakes as required.
  • Checks and measures the quality and specification of relevant products against the current product specifications.
  • Records and communicates information with 100% accuracy.
  • Ensures the security of any documentation and electronic data in their area of responsibility.
  • Places orders as and when required.
  • Maintains an up to date, efficient and well organised filing system for the department.
  • Trains other employees where appropriate.
  • Ensures that the workstation and Quality Control area is well organised.
  • Ensures that all communal areas are kept in appropriate condition.
  • Works in accordance with the ALDI GB&IE Code of Conduct.
